One Of Those Days

Today, it's one of those days when I am reminded that I am human, vulnerable to external forces. I am sick and tired, literally and figuratively...physically and emotionally.

Today, it's one of those days when we say when rains, it pours....cats and dogs! I am drenched, soaked and cold.

Today, it's one of those days when I have to acknowledge the hurt, the pain, the sorrow. I have to go through the process of weeping and washing away the cobwebs of life.

The only thing that keeps me going is the sweet truth that this, too, shall come to pass...and what will not kill me will make me strong.

Tomorrow, I am sure the sun will show up and I will be basking in the warmth of the beautiful sunshine. That is for certain.

Dearest S.S.....

This week I planted a hydrangea....I've been "drenching and soaking" it every day, as it is stressing, and some of the leaves look singed and burned, sick and tired....

...so I drench and soak it, so that this time next year, it will be strong, and healthy, and have deep roots, and lovely flowers.....

Isaiah 35:1,2 "The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing."

Peace, dear friend,

Dear Hindsfeet,

I am so touched by your message and so blessed to have you as my friend.

I happened to read the verses from Isaiah 35 some years back when I was experiencing a low point in my life. It gave me comfort and strength. True enough, abundance and rejoicing came after the rain.

It's great to be reminded with the same message once more.

God bless you, my friend.

SS,

I hope things are better. We recently went through tough times - our daughter lost baby #7. Maria Dominica would have been her girl #7. We so looked forward to having her around...

Then I read the following (from http://proverbs31devotions.blogspot.com/2010/07/whatever.html ):

"Dear Lord, teach me to concentrate on whatever is beneficial to my thought life. Grant me the ability to push aside whatever I find annoying in my life and let me learn to focus on the lovely and praiseworthy things You have placed around me. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Somehow, it helped to carry me through it. Our daughter and her husband have such solid faith, I only wish I could have even a teeny bit...

Faith is all we seem to have left at some point. But it also helps us get through it all, no matter how hard the situation.

SS I can't tell you how many times I read this post. Thank you for reminding me that I AM HUMAN, too...and that sunny days are yet to come.

Blessings to you.
